Summary: In HLV, Sherlock was shot by an unknown gunman whilst preparing to search for Magnussen’s vault. John was outside tending to Janine, Sherlock’s new fiancee. John doesn’t know what happened except that Sherlock is in critical condition. He waits, maintaining vigil as Sherlock undergoes emergency surgery. In his distress, John's emotions are a little less repressed than normal as he waits for his best friend to awake.
